About the scientist:

Caroline Herschel (1750-1848) was a German-born British astronomer who made significant contributions to the field of astronomy. She is best known for her discovery of several comets, as well as her work in cataloguing stars and nebulae. In recognition of her work, she was awarded the Gold Medal of the Royal Astronomical Society in 1828, becoming the first woman to receive the honor. Herschel also played a crucial role in the astronomical work of her brother William Herschel, helping him with his observations and calculations. She paved the way for future generations of women in science and continues to inspire people today.
